Eateries in Albany Texas

There are many unique eateries in Albany Texas. Since we’re small, Dairy Queen is our only “chain” restaurant, but we do like to eat well, and our culinarily gifted neighbors are very gracious in accommodating us. So for the most part, the food you find here you won’t find anywhere else… Enjoy!
Some of our favorite places to eat are not technically restaurants. For example, the Minit Mart/Alon service station and the Prairie Star/Chevron station have grills that serve up a variety of fresh-made fare and the Prairie Star is possibly the best caterer in town. So here’s where else to look for great grub:

Coffee, ice cream and soda fountain items are served all day, so it’s a great place to get into the shade and cool off.

In addition to gifts and specialty food items to purchase and take with you, they serve a delicious lunch from 11:00am to 2:00pm every day. Menu items include tasty sandwiches, crisp salad plates, delicious soups and fresh-baked casseroles. A sign board outside announces the Soup of the Day and the Special Plate. Call-in and take-out orders are welcome.
